Acabo de llegar de una breve visita al "Museo de la Caricatura Severo Vaccaro" de la ciudad de Buenos Aires , y entre otras joyitas me encontre con esto.

Animación para "El Arca" (Patagonik Film Group) basada en un baile del personaje Chandler de la serie "Friends", a pedido del director de animación Mariano Navarro.

I made this scene for "El Arca" (Patagonik Film Group) based on a Chandler´s dance from "Friends" tv series, the idea was of animation director Mariano Navarro.

Yupanqui

Este año se celebra el centenario del nacimiento de Atahualpa Yupanqui. Encontre este retrato que hice hace unos años. Es acrílico con espátula sobre hoja de color. Mi primer encuentro con esta técnica.

This year is celebrated the centennial of the Atahualpa Yupanqui birth. I found this portrait that I made some years ago. Is acrylic with spatula on color paper. My first encounter with this technique.

Upa en apuros / Upa in troubles

En 1942 se estrena el primer cortometraje de animación argentina en colores, "Upa en apuros" . Dante Quinterno, lleva a su mas poderozo personaje de historietas (Patoruzú) a la pantalla grande, luego de realizar un viaje a los Estados Unidos para formarse en la producción de dibujos animados. (Es notable la influencia de los cortos animados de Popeye producidos por Max Fleischer en la decada del 30)
Desde mi punto de vista , pienso que es la pieza de animación argentina de mayor nivel, considerando la época en la que fue realizada, y lo que ofrecía el mercado internacional en esos tiempos. Y lamentablemente también la única que realizaron Dante Quinterno y su equipo de dibujates.

In 1942 appears the first argentine animation short film in colors , "Upa in troubles". Dante Quinterno, carries his powerful comic strips character (Patoruzú) to the big screen, after a trip to the United States to be formed on animation production. (It is notable the influence of Popeye´s cartoons, produced by Max Fleischer in the 30´) Since my point of view, I think that is the best argentine animation piece , considering the epoch in which was made, and what offered the international market in those times. And sadly the only one that Dante Quinterno and his team was done .

Quirino Cristiani, pionero de la animación

Lamentablemente en el mundo de la animación, no es muy conocida la figura de Quirino Cristiani, uno de los pioneros de la animación en el mundo, y sobre todo en Argentina.
¿Que hizo este hombre para merecer estos honores?
Pues fue, ni mas ni menos, que el realizador del primer largometraje de animación del mundo – El Apóstol – en el año 1917, y del primer largometraje de animación con sonido -Peludópolis – en el año 1931. Ambos largometrajes fueron realizados con dibujos recortados y articulados (como marionetas en dos dimensiones), y los guiones eran sátiras de la actualidad política argentina. El fuego destruyo gran parte de la obra de Cristiani, al incendiarse en dos ocasiones los depósitos en donde se hallaban las películas.

Un magnifico libro de Giannalberto Bendazzi titulado “Quirino Cristiani, pionero del cine de animación (dos veces el océano)” , y un documental dirigido por Gabriele Zucchelli “ The mistery of the first animated movies” , rinden el merecido homenaje a un italiano que a los cuatro años de edad piso el suelo argentino , y aquí, desarrollo su vida , su familia y su talento.
Para él también, desde Argentina, está dedicada esta primer nota de mi blog.

Sadly in the world of the animation, a few peoples know about Quirino Cristiani, one of the pioneers of the animation in the world, and of course, in Argentina.

What did this man to deserve these honors? He was, the filmmaker of the first feature film of animation in the world – El Apostol – in the year 1917, and of the first feature film of animation with sound -Peludópolis – in the year 1931. Both films were made with drawings trimmed and articulated (as marionettes in two dimensions), and the history were satires to the argentinian political men. The fire destroyed great part of the work of Cristiani, when set on fire twice, his deposit of movies .

An great book written by Giannalberto Bendazzi titled "Quirino Cristiani, pioneer of the movies of animation (two times the ocean)", and a documentary directed by Gabriele Zucchelli "The mistery of the first animated movies", give deserved homage to an Italian that at the age of four, touched the Argentine floor, and here, development their life, their family and their talent. For him also, from Argentina, is dedicated this first post of my blog. (Sorry about my english)

Introducción / intro

Tener un Blog es como tener una revista que se publica gratuitamente en todo el mundo. Esto es una oportunidad maravillosa, ya que no hay editores que rechacen tu trabajo, y además, uno decide sobre que cosa escribir.

En este caso, he decidido publicar algunos trabajos míos, material de artistas a los que admiro, algo de artistas argentinos, algo de animación argentina, pero principalmente, cosas que tengan que ver con el arte de la animación; arte con el que trabajo y crezco hace mas de 10 años .

Gracias, y espero que lo disfruten desde cualquier lugar del mundo.


Having a blog is like having a magazine that is published everywhere and free. This is a marvelous opportunity, since there are no publishers to reject your work or ideas, besides; one decides on what subjects to write and share with the reader.

In this case, I decided to publish some of my works as an artist, stuff from artists that I admire, some works from Argentine artists, something about Argentine animation, but mainly, things related to the Art of the Animation; Art with which I work and grow for more than 10 years.
